Oh yea , to avoid getting cut just grind down the blade and use it strictly for practice . takes the fear of getting cut right out of the equation with out bulking the blade with tape .

DO NOT GRIND OR TAPE YOUR BLADES DAMMIT LEARN TO USE IT !
Heaven forbid you carry it and go to cut something and your knife is dull as a butter knife or you have to pull the tape off the blade because you are scared to open it correctly!
