Heres a really dumb question, but what kind of foam are you using. What are the different kinds of foam used for wing building. Where do you get your foam?
Although I have been in the hobby for about 30 years I am just getting into my first plans build foam aircraft. Any advice would help.

Nice setup, how does it work? I see your using a servo to control the hotwire.. I made one but its way more simple.

@murdy1975 Thanks, My earlier video "foamcutter 0001" might help explain it some. Basically, I wrote a program that opens up a DXF CAD drawing of an airfoil and translates it into values that go to a PIC16F690, which sends a signal to the servos each time a pulse is read from the encoder on the lead screw.

I'm just using some scrap home insulation foam that I had laying around. Being that this is just the core, it would have a thin layer of fiberglass applied over it, or be sheeted with balsa. A lighter weight foam would work better.
