@opticon The reason is that the Japanese voices also did the voices for the American dub, were as the Canadian dub had a different Voice cast. I watched the Canadian version as a child and it is much better! Unfortunatly it will never be released..I can't remember exactly why that is, but I believe it has somthing to do with the broadcasting network in Canada that paid for the dubbing.. It could have been a fire.. or they are just assholes.. lol as I said I can't quite remember atm. lol

@opticon The episodes in the 80's Were dubbed from Japanese to American english as you would assume. The vesion we are watching in this video is the American release.. Due to differnt sensorship laws (More strict or less, I'm not sure..) There was a different dub made and release to canada. The voices were different (Better in my opinion) the names wre different (ie. Dr. Elefun instead of Professor Peabody) and the dialog was also altered and in my opinion improved for the Candian release.

In the segment before this the police commishiner orderd all the emegancey robots powered down... then in this disaster strikes and the emergancy crews were completly helpless without them.. that seems a little short sighted to me! i mean, hes the police commishiner, he would have known that..
