I know you make and sell the WOHM radials any chance of selling some of these?
-
@bratte68 no injection pump or injectors? how exactly does this thing run?
-
I need 250 of these working together to power my 92 Ford Fiesta!
-
Thank the meth heads for that
-
is that engine self build?
-
@bratte68 Perfect prop! Woot! lol

@bratte68 yes, there is no substitute for ether. But a model diesel engine CAN run on a fuel with no ether. The problem is getting it started. You can use a high ether prime to get the engine warm enough to start with a number of prime runs, or you can just use a heat gun to get the engine hot enough for a start. But the engine may run rough or a compression ratio that's too high. See my videos.

@ducatiss900 I don't puncture the can. I put on a spray nozzle from a WD40 can with the tube. I punch a hole in the lid of a jar and spray the can out into the jar through the hole. This blows off all the propellant that can contaminate the fuel mix. Also, I'm not comfortable punching a hole into a pressurized can that contains an extremely volatile fluid. One spark,,,,,
isn't the prop a little off balance?

@10blood that's right, it was a mistake to press the reduce-bushing too hard. The prop was warped and ran out of trace. Now the prop runs perfect

im having trouble finding ether in Australia is there any other chemical i can use to replace it?

unfortunately there is absolutely no chemical to substitute ether. No other fluid has its volatileness (boiling point 35°C) and the absolute low ignition point of 180°C.

Can an engine like this run off of filtered used vegetable oil? I would like to use one to generate free electricity and use the heat from the engine to help warm up the fuel tank that holds the used vegetable oil to keep its viscosity at a manageable level.

There is no chance to run such an engine with this oil only(pure).You can substitute only a part of the kerosene/castor in the mix because there is no high pressure injection used in "large" diesel engines where the diesel fuel is atomized by injection nozzles. This engine is also not designed to run long times and needs air cooling (prop).The engine also would not ignite without containing ether in the fuel and there is no chance to obtain such high compression ratios to burn standard fuels.
