Shooting flying fish with Lumenoks.

what is the reason the fish are "flying"? and what kind of fishes are jumping like this?

and what should i do to make them fly?

@theblaad These are Silver asian carp in the Illinois river. The boat motor gets the fish stirred up and they jump., I wish they would let me use a shotgun.

@sultaraco You obviously do not understand the challenge to shoot these fish with an arrow. It is simply fun to do. If the object was to come home with large numbers of fish, we would take your advice. Meanwhile, I plan to do a lot more of this.

@drmartyn yes,it is fun to do.Asian carp were imported to weed out lakes but they escaped during floods & now eat vegetation that native fish would eat.THAT is why we remove them from American waterways.Bringing non native species to other countries can have deleterious effects which is why England quarantines dogs.

@theblaad Carp jump out of the water at the sound of engine noise.Here in Memphis,when running a towboat without a barge,we always seem to kick up a bunch of carp on deck.I always wanted to bring my crossbow with a fishing rig to work & sit on the head of the barge to shoot them as they jumped.

great bow shot. you should try water skiing behind your boat with all those carp! now that would be an adventure.

eventually (if its not already on You tube) we'll see morons shooting these fish with rifles or pistols.
