Natalie Merchant (http://nataliemerchant.com)at the Hammersmith Apollo Talks about, reads some nonsense rhymes and sings Calico Pie by Edward Lear. This is from her new record Leave Your Sleep which is just beautiful.
It was an honour meeting my favorite female singer, celtic connenctions was good to cos i started up in the gods for Lunasa & ended up on the front row when Natalie noticed that there was spare seats
Wonderful lady with a wonderful voice and a wonderful nature. Saw her recently at Celtic Connections and at the Sage, can't wait for Cambridge! At the Sage she got a volunteer for this bit. Thank for posting,
I was there too, lucky enough to be near the front. Great show - I loved the two halves, one like this, the other fluid with requests and old favourites, which she really seemed to enjoy. I agree, the new record is beautiful. So is she, of course ... wonderful artist, thanks for posting.
This is my first time hearing of Edward Lear. Thanks for posting.
