1) First and foremost the show was at the Hammerstein ballroom, a regular venue of the oldschool ECW.

2) RVD was one of the biggest stars of the orignal ECW, they were never gonna boo him.

3) Cena was symbolic of the gimmick-heavy WWE that ECW always stood against in the company's prime

4) With the ECW crowd being an older, smark heavy crowd, they could recognise Cena's shortcomings as a wrestler, namely his limited moveset and overly predictable match style.
