NOTE: Credits got cut off. Photographer is Mark Bermal, at www.flickr.com/bermdog - the "g" got cut off.

Red Trolley Crit in Mira Mesa, CA. Cat 3s. 1 km course, 4 turns, short hill before finishing straight.

Bike is a custom Tsunami Bikes (www.tsunamibikes.com) with Reynolds fork. BB30. 40 cm seat tube (center to top of top tube), 56.5 effective top tube. 12 cm stem, Mavic aluminum crit bend bars. 9.5 cm head tube. Box section aluminum rims, 32 spoke. Michelin Krylion tires, butyl tubes. 12-25 cassette, 53/39 rings. Campy Record 10 plus SRM 175 mm Cannondale SI crank.

Temps were mid 60s degrees, dry. First lap, last two laps, plus misc bits included.

52 minutes, 25.1 mph, avg 188w (normalized 253w - my FTP). 153 bpm avg, 177 bpm max (very high for me), 85 rpm avg. Usually hit peak 800-1100 watts on the hill, easiest was 700-ish watts, max 1140 on hill before 2 to go.

Helmet cam is from chasecam.com (I paid full price for it so I'm just a customer, and I don't get commissions or anything), camcorder in my pocket is a Canon ZR100 (discontinued, acts as a VCR to record what the helmet cam "sees"). Will be moving over to a self contained digital unit soon, since this set up weighs a few pounds and moves around my jersey.

Enjoy.

  • Awesome clip and music taste dude!

  • @SKEPTICPROD Thanks! The music is my brothers' so I have to say that they get the credit.

  • Great video. Mind if I ask what service you used to get the customized name decal on your top tube?

  • @shockey957 I piggy backed off of a friend who had a bunch made up for his team (and who typically does design work for pro teams and such). There are online places out there, but I don't know one from another.

  • you have the strength as a cyclist and ability,,,,you just have to stay in the front,,,,if you're in the last 4-5 laps or so go to the front and make a break away attempt you might go off the front and win or you might get caught up after a while either way you can place,,,even if you get swallowed up by the field it could be a while and you can probably place in the top 10 and get money

  • I swear there is a Kutztown kit in there, local team around here in Eastern PA, unexpected for a race in CA.

  • nice job..good catches on the commentary!

  • No, just consider me a slow learner.

  • Sounds like I'm very, very behind
