The game was established in Canada, when the nation had its own identity. CANADA as a sovereign nation was set up, so hockey was our sport. This team had more skill offensive wise than any other competing team at the WJHC. The Canadian style is to crash the net, not make a thousand unnecessary passes before the blueline, and take egregious dives.

Five Alive! I thought I saw Salming and Hamerstrom playing for the Swedes and their egg shells were falling from their pockets!
The Swedes invented the dive and fear the boards! Oh, sorry did I just reveal their secret weapon?
Their jersey colour ( yellow ) suits their style.
