  • a little tip: do NOT put your coil under the fulcrum of the lever.

Put the electromagnet on the lever, pendulum side of course.

Also, you'll have more time to push the pendulum (smaller arc). When it's got it's weight on it, it falls away too quickly to get in a good push.

  • timing circuit was a real bear. Find a dual 555 delay start / run time circuit. I spent a week on it... whole week. Another video coming - stuck processing.

  • Bifilar, but I joined the outer end of one wire to the inner end of the other. I think. Whichever way increases mag field, not cancels it... Zinc plated steel nails as core. Copper wire. Weighs about 500g? Hard to push a weight on a wire. Spinning and no tensile strength

  • 0.3 amps every push, recovery of radiant thru neon. And about 90%? returned by gravity. Can't wait to get the back end sorted out... Touchy to get the pushes in resonance, I'll have to add another reed switch magnet to trigger the timing earlier.

  • springs - I've been looking for some springs, instead for now I've cut those $2 super bouncy balls you get in those machines at shops for kids.

  • is that coil bifillar?? or just using 1 power coil?

  • thats awesome i gotta give this a go!

ive noticed that wire or string swinging the pendulum has less losses, ever thought of using a string?

  • wow thats great, relly coming along mate

how many amps is it consuming??

  • Good job!

Other things I considered doing was putting a springs on to get a "bounce off " effect...
