The veteran must have served 90 days of active duty, including one day during a period of war, but not necessarily overseas. Also, the veteran must have been discharged honorably. There are a lot of programs out there to help people and, unfortunately, people don't always know about them. It's a way of allowing veterans to receive care that they really need that they won't receive because the families won't feel they have the money.

My Grand Dad was in Burma he was only let to settled in this country 5 months ago :(

This is still dragging on labour hoped it would die out and the media would move on cowards. Labour do not like the nations armed forces they know the gurkhas and their families will not vote for labour but some jihadi hamas supporting third world false asylum seeker will.

yeah right... and let me tell you that the indian army also recruits Gurkha regiments in its battalions. In fact, Gurkhas supported India greatly during the Indo-China war. Who's got pride now huh?

i wonder if britain would like to keep those worthless peoples who are just a burden to a society,country..killing and stabbing peoples.,,bombing and terrorism act..but not to allow keeping those peoples who served and has still been serving for this country for more than 2 centuries..and who has got a sight of being honest and living in peace..

I spent 33 years in uniform, of those years I spent just six days with the Gurkhas, but those are the men that I remember the most. They were Gentlemen and I am very proud to have met them, although briefly. Good luck guys.
