Gilels was my guide on this one. Unfortunately, I have yet to make the clean jumps that I want. This was recorded a few months back and I have been slipping in some clean-up time on this after working on my other practice pieces. Soon I will record it again and see what improvement there is.

  • Which mic do you use? The dynamics are very clear :)

  • @elainemusic369 Thx. I used a Sony PCM-D50 and just used the mics that are attached to the unit.

  • @0casteloencantado0 it'll not be easy but not so hard! if you are able to study very much you'll play it. 2 or 3 years aren't enought but you can try! to study! every day! i would like to listen your rachmaninoff interpretation!

even thought i'm not a pianist, contact to me if you need for help! bye

  • I can hear that Gilels was your guide ;)

He is my guide, too, when I play this piece.

    Best regards

  • Very good i am doing this peice myself i actually like the speed and if you listen to the original its about the same ish in tempo, this is the speed at about am doing it.very good recording fab sound. At 0.42 to 0.55 that section i struggle to get the full stretch for the chord do you do the full chords for it or miss out the top octive note?i find it Auquard lol but very well done i fair enjoyed listnign to it

  • That was absolutely gorgeous, Josiah. I learnt this piece last fall and it is an absolute monster in some parts. I also like your speed. Too many people take this way too fast and your speed is precise and controlled... Fantastic work! I would like to hear you play more op23, perhaps op23no4 or no 7?

  • Great job!
