John O' Sullivan was a journalist in South Wales for forty-five years. He covered the Aberfan disaster for the Daily Mail and was with BBC Wales during the miners' strike in the 1980s. In 1973 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study Talking Newspapers for the Blind. He wrote numerous books on South Wales, including A Century of Cardiff and A Century of Newport.
