@ilovemyschnauzer1... I can not emphasize enough, the importance of music in films to gain emotional bonds with the audience. Take the Star Wars movies for example. Ep 4,5,6 (first 3) had powerful emotional music. They were great. Ep 1,2,3 have nothing that really bonds with the audience. They stink, but still made money riding the waves the originals created.

@Boogyman4050 haha yeah you are so right. The emotional music really does make most people cry. Music always creates more emotion than plain words do

For all the cry babies. Try an experiment of emotional response. If you watch it with "dialogue and music" and always cry... Watch it again without the music "only dialogue" and see if you still cry. I'm willing to bet 70% stop crying. The music over feeds the drama, which blows your mind with sorrow. Instant cry baby. It's like a Jedi Knight trick. Great movie though.
"Odyssey, this is Houston, do you read me?"

tense as hell when I first saw this as I knew nothing about Apollo 13 beforehand, even now having read and watched many things concerning the Apollo project (such as the excellent From the Earth to the Moon) this moment still has tension that is wonderfully shattered when you hear from "Odyssey" and Horner's music flares up.
