  • I disagree with the code 2. This response was code three utilizing lights and sirens responding to an 'unknown injury accident'. Code two would be something like a non blocking non injury accident that he was attempting to get to.

  • @peakcomp0621 SPD runs no-code to non injury, non blocking accidents. They run code-2 to possible injury or blocking accidents. Every agency is different, and uses codes differently. This is just how Spokane uses theirs. SPD doesn't use code-3, but County Sheriff does in extreme situations.

  • looked like a WSP

  • That one is Spokane Police Dept. City Officer.

  • Really who cares?

  • @apocalypseman69 you are the classic definition of a 'fucking goof'

  • @drclean007 Thank you for your response.

  • GO OPPOSING LANES!!! oh wait.. the accident is... right... there... DAMMIT!

  • @Trendwin Actually, he is right, although it may not happen in our lifetime! Codes are fine, but as has been mentioned, each agency uses different one. If there was a multi-agency situation, using the same codes with different meanings is not only confusing, but could be dangerous. Where I work, we use a combination of plain speech and codes. Normally the codes are something you don't want broadcast (i.e. a death, warrants, etc.). Some may never give up codes, but never say never.

  • @Trendwin How does code prevent anyone from listening in? It doesn't take much listening to figure out what things mean. I've figured out at least 10 codes of the Santa Clara County sheriff's office in California just by listening for a while and using some brain power. It's not hard to deduce 4-15 for them is a fight/violence, etc.

  • @peakcomp0621 I know a cop and he says that they will be getting rid of the codes very soon and start talking normal.

  • I think they need to stop using 'codes' so that other agency's can understand what is going on in the event of an actual national emergency.
