duke band is okay but this band swung coming from a 14 year old thumbs up if u agree

One of Frank Foster's gems: the definitive arrangement personifying the vocabulary of Ellington, Basie, and the post 1940's jazz orchestra, especially in the soli and the shout. You can't hear all of the harmonies in this recording, so those interested should check out the several other audio recordings. Thank you Frank. Keep swingin'.

OscarPetersonFan - The guy who turned me onto Oscar was this guy, Basie. Thanks so much for posting. I saw the Count many times from the early 1970s to the early 1980s and feel so priviledged. Count Basie's sound was casual elegance. It took a lot of talent to play such wonderful music in a casual way. Thank you!

What a tone what soloist what swinging outfit .

I would love to play this song in a bigband before I die..... This song has such a strong count basie color!

I had the pleasure of seeing Count Basie and his Orchestra in the most unlikely place - in the high school gymnasium of my podunk town! I was confused, (The Count at Escondido High School? WTF?) but very, very thrilled!

This was Howard Stern's theme some for many years. Now he uses some horrible Rob Zombie song. What the hell is wrong with him?

Oh how I wish he was still alive.
Basie .... the man can play more music with fewer notes than anyone! Super band!
Who does the trombone solo? So good!
Thanks for posting.
