A few months back after checking my bug-out bag I started getting this terrible feeling in the back of my head that I needed to pull it out of my truck and perform a thorough inspection of content. After weeks of being lazy and saying, "I'll do it next weekend" I finally decided to make it my new year's resolution to get the major reorganization done and get the survival/preparedness monkey off my back.

  • Thanks for the motivation. I'm a like-minded guy and have been putting off a bug out bag for years. I have my bug out location (property with house, stocked/locked and protected), but I have to get there and that won't be easy. Won't be possible under some conditions which is why I need to get my shite together. Look forward to looking at your other videos. Best of luck if/when TSHTF. Out.

  • @eneal65 thanks, good luck to you also. Hope we don't need the luck though.

  • what kind of cook ware is that you have in your BOB?

  • just a cheap MSR pan. 10 bucks. You can get by with an old aluminum can or something else you scavenge. Thanks for the question.

  • Great idea and excellent tips on the needed gear. My bug-out bag needs a lot of work. I hope to work on it this week.

I've gotta read Atlas Shrugged too. I've been a hearing a lot about it.

  • WBoA, get to work on some new vidos man!

  • what do you think about those new brita filter bottles that have the filter in the cap?

  • A gas mask is a good add on to your kit. I have a Survivair gas mask in mine. I think tear gas and other air born contamination is going to be a problem to think about if all hell breaks loose.

The gas mask will also protect your eyes from dust that might be in the air.

  • Except for the wool blanket, what else do you use for shelter e.g. bivy bag, tarp, poncho, sleeping bag?

  • more objectivists should be in to prepping !!

  • I have a whole roll of toilet paper. I love the Sterno fuel to i have loads of it. i carry a folding shovel to dig holes for my campfires, when I'm done i fill hole back up and no one know i was there.folding saw, hatchet. tent stakes i can make a fully enclose tent out of tarp. I carry flares just because i had them. You can carry a little container of bleach to purify water to, or boil it. I carry those little packets of alcohol pads to start fires at time, one spark and you have fire. ect ec

  • Have you consider a Berkey Bottle. Holds a liter of water and filters too. You can essentially carry the water and can grab the water on the run without being caught in the middle of filtering.

  • you are an isperation man,,i love your videos ....

  • Yes you will need scotch to calm down if the situation is as bad as you forecast it !

  • TWW, I put my BOB together last night. Twenty-five pounds. Not bad considering I have a Kel-Tec folding 9mm carbine with a Glock G17 mag and an extra 30 rnd mag in the bag. I need to get a Katadyn system and only have the steri-pen. I do adventure motorcycle touring (road to the Arctic Circle last summer from Seattle (7Kmiles)), so I already had everything minus the Katadyn. Major plus on the pocket book. I planned that trip as if I was in the outback with no services. It paid off.
