Yay for mink car cover CD's and as for memory and death there is a book called Tuesday with Morrie I got a lot out of a few years ago I think that this may fit "As you grow old, you learn more. If you stayed at twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It's growth. It's more than the negative that you're going to die, its also the positive that you understand you're going to die, and that you live a better life because of it."

I've listened to it over an over again. I love Mink Car Cover. It's fun to hear the different versions.

Have you read A Fine and Private Place by Peter S. Beagle? He touches on the same themes of infinite cognizance and diminishing memory. From what I remember, he wrote it while still in college (long before The Last Unicorn), and his prose is almost as beautiful as in his more recent works. Highly recommended!

@oyaji327 I have not read Fine and Private Place. Fun Fact: Peter S. Beagle almost ended up playing my guitar at last year's Philcon. He wanted to borrow it for a filk show, but I had to catch a train so I could not loan it to him!
