When the NASA space shuttle Columbia exploded with her return in the atmosphere on the 1st February, 2003, more than 30 pages from the diary Ilan Ramons which did not fall victim to the fire were found near the impact place of the space shuttle in Texas. They survived an explosion, 38 miles away from the earth and the damage of the sun and rain. These sides were transcribed in the Jerusalem Israel museum and were scanned and made accessible to the general public. In to his sixth day in the space Ramon had taken down: "Today was the first day in which I have felt that I really live in the space. I have become a person who lives in the space and works." One of the pages contained the handwritten Sabbath prayer of the wine - the Kiddush - which Ramon had written out in order to be the first Jew to recite the blessing in space.

  • @guauguau6

    Thank you!

  • Ilan Ramon with the drawings of Pedr Ginz ... the day that the people of Israel returned to the skies in the merkavas.

All the best from Spain from an ex-christian kibutznik.

  • Petr not Pedr. Yes, I agree! All the best.

  • I'm surprised Nizza Thobi did not add

lyrics to this sad melody, and her

    unique singing style in yiddish.

Very sad what happened to Ilan Ramon

    and his fellow astronauts.

  • Dear Mr. Diner,

maybe you can write the lyric for my melody... thank you very much.
