Community Clinic Safety Net at Risk

Not-for-profit community clinics and health centers (CCHCs) are a fundamental part of Californias healthcare safety-net, literally catching the states most medically vulnerable populations. CCHCs share a common mission to serve everybody who walks through their doors, regardless of their ability to pay, and in many California counties they are fundamental in providing a significant proportion of comprehensive primary care services to those who are publicly subsidized or uninsured.

The Governors proposed reductions in his 09-10 May Revision are unquestionably the most serious threat the states healthcare system has ever seen. For CCHCs, their very lifeblood is at risk; Medi-Cal is the primary revenue source for CCHCs, Traditional Clinic Programs allow CCHCs to provide access to care for hundreds of thousands of uninsured, and the Healthy Families and Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) programs provides CCHCs significant assistance in serving Californias low-income children and elderly. These reductions alone jeopardize CCHCs ability to continue to provide vital services. With numerous additional proposed healthcare reductions compounding the problem, the safety-net will become even further dismantled. Once millions of newly uninsured individuals flood into the safety-net as a result of these cuts, a statewide public healthcare crisis is inevitableyet preventable. REJECT AN ALL CUTS BUDGET, AS PROPOSED BY THE ADMINISTRATION INSIST ON REVENUE GENERATION AS PART OF THE BUDGET SOLUTION.

This is a Depression and funding will be reduced to just the bare minimum basics.

If you are having trouble supporting your family in any way you will find plenty of sympathy but little funding in the times to come. It's time to become self reliant as soon as possible just to survive. Good Luck-----Thor
