DEEP SILVER ANNOUNCES CURSED MOUNTAIN, A SURVIVAL HOROR GAME SET IN THE HIMALAYAS

Designed Exclusively for Wii, Cursed Mountain is Set for Worldwide Release in 2009

Hermosa Beach, Calif. July 31, 2008 Global video game developer and publisher Deep Silver today revealed the first details of Cursed Mountain, a survival horror game produced exclusively for Wii TM by their internal development studio and its partners.

Set in the late 1980s, gamers will take on the role of a fearless mountaineer as he climbs into the Himalayas on a quest to find his lost brother. As he ascends the mountain, he encounters an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in that region are stuck in limbo, caught in the Shadow World. Villagers, pilgrims, mountaineers and Buddhist monks dead but not yet reincarnated are all that is left on the mountain. Terrible visions will disorient him, and ghosts and demons block his path. But the question remains is his brother still alive?

Designed exclusively for Wii, Cursed Mountain features rich visuals and breathtaking views set on the roof of the world in the life threatening death zone, the entire game world is visible from every level. The gesture-based combat system takes full advantage of the Wii motion sensitivity. Players will use the Wii Remote TM to look around, sense the environment, climb and fight enemies.

"With a fresh setting, gloomy atmosphere and the innovative use of the Wii controls, Cursed Mountain will deliver a unique, terrifying game play experience," said Hannes Seifert, Managing Director at the Deep Silver development studio. "Deep Silver is confident that Cursed Mountain will help to further establish our international presence, and help expand the survival horror game genre on the Wii platform."

Cursed Mountain is scheduled for a worldwide release for Wii in 2009. For more information, visit: http://cursedmountain.deepsilver.com

  • Probbaly the most hardcore came on the wii right now.i've seen other ones but i'm happy that this asnd other good mature games are comming for the wii in 2009

  • The Wii is really about the gameplay, not the graphics... then again if you judge a game on graphics alone then you do pretty poor.

Many people underjudge the graphical capablities of the Wii because they just compare them to the 360 and the PS3, but they are highly graphical consoles and dont aim towards the whole 'play with family AND friends at the same time'.

  • Great game, check out my fan made trailer in the video responses :)

  • cant update hardware with a software update -.-'

  • Finally, someone smart. Thank you.

  • Cash is no problem softwear update hmmmmm

  • If they upgraded the disc, they would also need to upgrade the disk drive. Think of it as a 16x CD drive needed, and you only got 8x.

Anyway, it would cost cash, and people dont like spending cash... specialy not in todays socioty.

  • All they have got to do is upgrade the disc

  • Yep I saw it, I bought a game Wii resort a couple of weeks ago(I think the name is right). And it had a little maskin with the game ^^

  • No, the motion plus is a control add on, but reports have asked weather there is any point having one just yet. Games on the wii dont support it, and if they do, they dont show a massive increse.

  • The Conduit is a awsome shooter, dont like many shooters, but that one really gets me thinking :P
