@PowerfulMindsofWomen Agreed re Sojourner Truth's powerful words. Just one thing: Sojourner was born 23 yrs before Harriet Tubman. She was tall and "gaunt" while Tubman was much shorter, and not-so skinny. Each of them stands as a beacon to all women, and to truth that would not - could not - be silenced. Tyson's portrayal of Sojourner is magnificent!

Thank You ancestors for surviving and being strong black men and women, in a time of hate, anger and evilness. Thank You for making it possible for me to do what I do, go where I go and live where I live.

I dont' think anyone plays this role better than Ms. Tyson. Besides that, she's a supreme actress with exceptional talent. I was so moved by her redention of this classic speech by the Queen Warrior Sojourner Truth, also known as Harriet Tubman, who alone set a precedent for Black leadership. Every woman alive and forthcoming should memorize this speech and be required to recite it as a rite of passage into womanhood. This speech is the one and only Woman's Anthem.
