years later this painting is still very special to me.

Very large painting, 106x83, based on the model xochielt. Source photography matthew cooke

The painting style was influenced by Chuck Close and Mark Rothko.

Planning the painting took 4 months, and 20 hours of photoshopping the source material (that exact pose didnt exist I had to stitch it together)
To actually paint it only took about 5 days, I didnt sleep much and Id wager the painting only took 80-100 hours.

I'm so glad you like it. This painting was MADE to really arrest the viewer in person, but sadly i've yet to show it. (even for major artists, big art is hard to sell/market/show) But it looks really cool in person, so hopefully eventually people will get to see it en masse.
