"I make music for the drug dealers," states Raekwon in the surreal setting of an upmarket London hotel lobby. SoulCulture were there to listen to a preview of the highly anticipated sequel to his classic debut album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx - and to speak with the Wu-Tang founding member. In this interview, The Chef discusses the enthusiastic support and input of Busta Rhymes and waiting on Dr Dre, ("it didn't feel good,") moving forward as an independent artist with 15 years experience in the business and his confidence in this 'classic' sequel: Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Part II.

  • Fuck Jay Z Weezy and Drake Wutang is pushing out all the fuckig bangers you want real music on cd? or do you want 10% game and 90% hollywood

  • Third, I'm not saying that Wayne is no good, but I can't help thinking that his flow was taken/stolen from a ghostwriter named Gillie Da Kid. Raekwon's raps are subtler and more intricate than Wayne's. Lil Wayne seems to focus on wowing you with his punchlines (which tend to make up 90% of his raps) than creating something on the scale of Raekwon and the other Wu members. There's more wisdom and quality in one Raekwon song than there is on a whole Wayne album.

  • They should have a "Are you a Hard ass Nigga" quiz and one of the qualifications is you have to sit through and relate to EVERY track off O.B.F.C.L.

  • @barangatang yeah doom is nice.

  • why rea said jdilla his dead

  • I LOVE WHEN CATS TRY AND COMPARE THIS DUDE TO LIL WAYNE! Leme tell you, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Kudi, Mac Miller and all the other whack rappers combined couldnt even touch Rae.. or the rest of the clan. Real artists writing about real actual shit.. not 40 year olds rapping about Louis Vitton. real shit here!!!

  • I'm the whitest person I know. I have a freaking Hank Williams CD. Yet I still think the first Cuban Linx album is a masterpiece.

In any other case, making statements like "It's going to be the best album of the year" would come off as cocky. But come 2010 and he was totally right. Is that clairvoyance or what?

  • @Delpierolegend10 They're completely different. Raekwon is a much more serious, narratively based rapper. What Lil Wayne lacks in skill he makes up for in charisma, Wayne is more of a comedic rapper. I personally prefer Rae but each have their own attributes.

  • i feelin you on that reply bro! i always in tha back of my mind felt that mf doom is basically tha last member of wu tang he fits in perfectly with the style of tha unbeatable army

  • Raekwon is MF DOOM's closest relative in my opinion

  • Raekwon is a fuckin legend

  • HIP HOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
