HOLOCAUSTUL: UN AVERTISMENT AL ISTORIEI
O definitie succinta a Holocaustului ar fi urmatoarea: uciderea sistematica, în masa, sponsorizata de catre stat - Germania nazista si aliatii sai -în lagare de concentrare si exterminare, a aproximativ 6 milioane de evrei europeni. O definitie largita ar include însa, alaturi de evrei, ca victime ale aceluiasi sistem, înca aproximativ 5 milioane de "indezirabili rasial": slavi, sinti si roma, persoane cu handicap fizic si mental, homosexuali, cât si un numar considerabil de opozanti politici si prizonieri de razboi.
Exterminarea fizica, la scara si cu ajutorul mijloacelor industriale, a evreilor europeni, gândita de catre nazisti în termenii genocidului total, ramâne de departe cel mai important aspect al Holocaustului. Cu toate acestea, nu trebuie uitat ca Holocaustul înseamna, totodata, suma tuturor actiunilor anti-evreiesti coordonate si implementate de catre regimul nazist din Germania si de catre aliatii sai europeni între anii 1933-1945: privarea evreilor de drepturile lor civile si economice, segregarea si înfometarea, deportarea si ghetoizarea etc. Cu alte cuvinte, umilinte nesfârsite, suferinte fizice si psihice, pierderea sperantei, nu în ultimul rând, distrugerea unor comunitati, a unei culturi, a unei limbi, a tot ceea ce creaza împreuna memoria colectiva a unui popor.

The Roma, a nomadic people believed to have come originally from northwest India, consisted of several tribes or nations. Most of the Roma who had settled in Germany belonged to the Sinti nation. The Sinti and Roma had been persecuted for centuries. The Nazi regime continued the persecution, viewing the Roma both as asocial and as racially inferior to Germans.
Although the Nuremberg Laws did not specifically mention them, Roma were included in the implementation of the statutes. Like Jews, they were deprived of their civil rights. In June 1936, a Central Office to "Combat the Gypsy Nuisance" opened in Munich. By 1938, Sinti and Roma were being deported to concentration camps.
The fate of the Romani peoples paralleled that of the Jews after the beginning of World War II: systematic deportation and murder. First, western European Roma were resettled in ghettos. Then they were sent to concentration and extermination camps. Many Roma in the east--Russia, Poland, and the Balkans--were shot by the Einsatzgruppen
In total, hundreds of thousands of Sinti and Roma were killed during the Holocaust.

Its sad how people often forget that the romani's suffered greatly during the holocaust, none of my friends even know who they are, in the media they only portray the death of the jews but no one cares to mention the roma people. Even though about 500,000- to one million died, and they still continue to be ignored and are still placed at the bottom of society, that's why I'm doing my project on them for school so kids in my school can know who they are. Great video. :)

@ahmedeox Am joking. None should be deported for acts of others. Reasonable is increasing penalties. If begging of the Roma is thought to be a huge problem, incarcerate tramps; if petty theft of the Roma is perceived to be a huge problem, then, like Saudi Arabia, lop thieves's hands. Blind law yields equal justice for all.

@P1B1U1H1 Gypsies are nomadic, some of them don't have id, or a known address. As such, no census can give an accurate number. it is very likely that there are 14 millions gypsies in europe, and here I am including russia. I really don't understand what you mean by Kashmir "absorbing" 4million gypsies, but you certainly cannot suggest they be deported there.
