I have never owned an android, but I do agree that the Palm Pre needs better hardware.

  • 1ghz will make your processor run hot. And it will decrease the life time of your battery and phone.

  • @TheOneMetallica1

While one could make that point, it is unlikely that overclocking at 1ghz will harm your phone. But if you are worried, you can just overclock at 800mhz

  • thank you so much

    You are very welcome.

Very soon I will be releasing more helpful videos that benefit all WebOS users.

  • does it works in palm pre with webOS 2.0?

  • soooooooo how does this work with the pixi? o.o?

  • do you have the pre or the pre plus? i have a slide phone (samsung slyde/rant), im planning to get the pre and im in canada, bell has a deal 0 bucks for a pre (2 years) and rogers has a pre 2 (99$ for 3 years). so can the pre overclock to 1 ghz? or only 800 mhz

  • @jakebworth I have used your tutorial and successfully overclocked my pre to 1ghz in the past. But, for some reason... I had to do a reset on my phone and when I went to follow these same steps, govnah will NOT let me use the 500/1000 screenslate. I choose it, and it just doesnt change from 500mhz. The ONLY thing it will allow me to do is set a forced speed of 600mhz in the options. It is almost like it thinks that I have a pixi and not a pre. HELP!! I have even doctored my phone and no luck

  • Thanks. Very Helpful!

  • @K1Lushlife Sorry dude but you are a bit stupid. Android has had multi tasking since 2008!!!! And it has VOICE GUIDED DIRECTIONS ON GOOGLE MAPS!!!!. It is obvious that you never used an android phone

  • @theandroinvader , android is not better than webOS!!...it's not as easy to access all the features as webOS. Just getting to switch the bluetooth and wi-fi on and off is a pain. There is NO multitasking on android and as far as widgets, webOS obviously as them and by the way, there is turn by turn navigation on both the Google Map and Navigation app already on the phone. You just never bothered to use it!!!!

  • how much ram has your palm? because mine has only 256mb

  • @ProWings79 That depends on how much you use your phone with the screen on. Screenstate just means whenever the screen is on, your phone will be overclocked. When the screen is off, it'll be underclocked. That means you get max performance when you're using it, and max efficiency when you aren't, in order to compensate. There's probably a "break even" point somewhere between screenstate and fixed speed, but that differs from person to person. I personally use 500/800 and my battery lasts me.
