I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (Nov. 1, All Saints' Day), we sang this as our closing hymn. However, in our title it's Your instead of Thy. It is #414 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Just thought I'd share.

I agree. I would much prefer a pipe organ...and I generally DONT like digital organs, but like you said, I'd rather have a great digital organ then a poor pipe organ...although pipes are better

One of those hymns that can send a chill up your spine. Not a lot of them can do that!

I've never understood why Rodgers gets such a bad rap...they're not all that bad. I think Allen does a better job with their pedal stops and I think Rodgers accels with their reeds...but overall this recording sounds bright and fiery. Digital is digital no matter how you slice it so its like choosing the lesser of all evils lol...and sometimes you just have no choice but to go that route. And when you do, Rodgers is a viable option

Thanks for the reply. I did not attend my church yesterday. I filled in at another local ELCA church. They are without an organist now. So I am going to help them out whenever I can. We did not sing this there, though.

ELCA Lutheran from North Carolina. I don't play, but we also sang this today as our closing hymn. Very beautiful hymn one of my faves!

We sing this Hymn with Down in Adoratio Falling before Jesus Our Lord and Our God (THE EUCHARIST)

Every Church should have one and use it with the most beautiful Hymn. Only the best for Our Lord and God!

Thank you for your great performance and for choosing this wonderful and powerful chant. Holy God, We Praise Thy Name
(Grosser Gott, wir loben Dich) is very popular here in Germany and is played nearly at every Catholic Mass.
i dont care for digital organs there mocking a true wind blown pipe organ, if the church spent the money on those fake pipes for looks why not save your money and either get areal pipe organ or stick with guitars. i've played both and, you'll never catch me playing a want to be true wind and a rank and pipe for each key I've played on the Univ of fla. additorium organ man that is a nice organ 99 ranks that was the largest that i've ever played on

I would prefer an all pipe organ myself, however, the church just did not have the money for an organ of sufficient size for the congregation. The pipes you see are real speaking wind blown pipes. This organ currently has 5 ranks of Ruffatti pipes. I am not sure the answer would have been, to not have any organ music or put away the traditional elements of the church's music program for guitars. This church has a great history of quality traditional music. They don't "stick with guitars."

Is the chamade one of the ranks of pipes? If not, Rodgers does a wonderful job with those as well! Great job!

The Chamade is a digital rank on this organ. The organ has a Montre 8,4,2, and Three rank mixture. I am not sure what the stop is called.

GrandChoeur is so on target, Rodgers does a fine job with the 32' Bombarde in fact, all of their 32's are good. Not better than Walker, but good. Both are light years ahead of Allen. Nice job missionaryorganist, I wish my 8 videos on You Tube sounded as good. What recording equipment did you use,was it separate from camera mic? That's probably where I made my mistake...it's driving me nuts!

I agree, and I have visited the Allen Organ facility in Allentown. I believe that Rogers does a better job. I believe that that room acoustics have much to do with the sound of any organ, even digital ones. This room is rather dry. This recording is just from the single mic on my Sony Handycam
