  • My personal opinion is that worship songs are nothing more than prayers with music. You choose and sing songs that carry forth the message you want to bring to God and that's all there is to it. Therefore, praying during worship should be almost liquid, a natural thing to do, a part of the flow

True, the traditions of Churches may differ and we ought to respect those that God put above us. I think all we can do is pray and work with what the Lord grants us =)

  • " short's always better'? not sure if I agree with that. How about we praise and worship according to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and not put such strict time limits on it. Exhortation is important in leading as well as prayer. If there is a " Selah" moment that should be fine as well.

  • @worshipper26 well based on my experience in being in a worship group, sometimes we play repeat the songs so many times in one service that it gets boring and people just get bored of singing the same song. so i think its better for it to be short and sweet. i think its better if you leave the audience wanting for more instead of not wanting to hear the song again.

Hi, I just saw your message. Did you get that prayer answered. If not, I would like to join in prayer with you.

    God bless.

  • @worshipper26

I thought he meant prayers are better short, not the worship. i.e. he was elluding to the fact that it's not a good idea to ramble as he reiterated when he mentioned you're not supposed to give a sermon. Just my thoughts. :)

  • I agree with the statement of not "preaching in prayer." You're not preaching a message to people; you're communicating with God. We don't question when to talk to other people or not. When do we talk to them? When is it appropriate? When you have something to communicate or a response is required. It's the same in praying during worship: "Should something be communicated to God? Is a response required?"

Question: Why is shorter worship better? I'm not quite clear on this.

  • thanks alot!

  • amazing! i'm 17, and also leading worship. what we young people probably need to remember is that God has no qualms about using people regardless of age. "Let no man despise our youth, but be an example..."

  • I personnaly think that one of the Best thing we can do in this life is to be a Worship Leader or to do worship before God Almighty thru Jesus Christ. It's the most beautifuly thing we can do for Him. I will forever praise Him.

  • Sorry, I forgot to mention that my comment was in reply to

    cstorm72000's comment.

  • ..every individual is different and expresses their heart to God differently which is one reason why we have so many different churches for people to choose to go to. When you have a congregation and leadership who feels a method of action is the highest of praise, worship, and respect to God, it's important to comply and help to grow and encourage God's people in their faith.

I agree that your eyes don't have to be closed, but some believe it's more respectful to do such things.

    God Bless :)
