A Delfin L-29 owned at the time by Dave Morss. A quick look at the Delfin as a gentleman takes a flight in the front cockpit.

  • whats the operating cost?

  • I have no idea. I never asked. I imagine its close to a WWII warbird, a lot!

  • Thise planes wasnt build for speed you ......s! Its been designed for battle over Czechoslovakia, which was rather small country and russian fast unmanouvrable jets wasnt able to do so..! Its Czech plane Aero Vodochody, as same as L-59,L-39,L-139/159.. dont f.ucking laugh.. you.. we built radar which was as only one in the world detect your f.unky a.ss stealth technology planes.. and now your marines will using TATRA vehicles.. we had tramways in years when you was riding horses/eating beans..

  • Wow, easy. No one is saying bad things about it. I think it's a testament to the designer that they are still flying and can be privately owned and operated. A crew chief for the F-15 couldn't believe it was privately owned because for every hour the F-15 flies it needs about 7 hours of maintenance. I saw a couple at the Reno Air Races this year.

  • There is the electronic starer control located under the Turbine Oil sump. The sequence is....After pushing the start button, the starter motor starts to turn the turbine (200amps), after 5 seconds the igniters start, alternating clicking sound between the burner cans,

  • Did you work on these jets?

  • @lanebmw whatever..

  • @TheVeneth hahahah.....dude you really take all this very serious don`t you. Maybe you need to re-read your post from year ago. You are ranting and raving. Its a good little plane but its not a fighter or attack plane its a trainer.....no big deal. I like the plane and consider buying one a few years ago....well for about what a bmw would cost Just did not want to go through all the LOA business so I dropped it. O, yea...I take no meds.....well maybe a little.....wine. lol

  • @lanebmw really? do you have anything concrete to say? or just blabing some bullshit about medication that you are behind with? ..you know.. there is a problem with people like you.. people like you seems to have troubles with memory..

  • @TheVeneth

Dude you need to get back on your meds!

  • @mmurray48162 20 minutes of flight cost about USD 800 in Czech republic.

  • @ggreen85

Everything except for fuel is cheaper. But, then again, some of those big radials guzzle gas, too. The L-29 is comparable to a Texan, IMO.

  • @MMFineArts L-29 is actually one of the cheaper birds. The acquisition cost is actually comparable to a new car. It's not too much in the other aspects save for fuel, jets swill gas down. But, in many cases it's cheaper than an AT-6.

  • This is a true turbojet engine, which means it burns a lot more fuel than a WWII piston warbird. I bet the operating cost is a lot more.
