I must admit that I've never been a big Tebaldi fan, but I am so impressed by her Aida! She really put a lot emotion into the aria. Wow!

e pensare che la Tebaldi non voleva cantare Aida proprio perchè diveva che la sua voce non si adattava bene all'opera e soprattutto a questa aria. Qui raggiunge la massima interpretazione di ritorna vincitor, recitativo e dizione da manuale, coloratura e rispetto della dinamica a limite della perfezione assoluta, legati della Tebaldi e basta, piani e smorzati dosati perfettamente. Be un'interpretazione ineguagliabile.

Que tontos todos los comentarios. La Tebaldi canta, la Loren actúa!!! Es sólo una película con Aida como tema. Yo disfruto oyendo la divina música de Verdi y gozo viendo la preciosidad de Sofía. Y cierro los ojos para la voz de la Renata. Todo es un placer. Nessuna porcheria!!!! Che italiani pazzi!!! Non sapete come dilettare??

No, Tebaldi was not. the POINT is, being historically accurate, is using black face...back in the Romantic Eria, they did not import Africans to sing this role.

I don't even find Loren hot here and I think she's one of the sexiest woman ever! They may as well have just used Tebaldi who wasn't ugly (but was she overweight in 1952?). Doesn't matter who they used.. both would look horrible like that!
