what exactly are the kids tryin to do?

They are trying to halter a calf and lead it to the circle in the arena. These are mostly kids who show beef and dairy, but there are other 4Hers as well.

My brother is the really fast one at the beginning who doesnt end up catching a calf, lol.

Those kids are too fat to catch anything lol. And doesnt this cause alot of stress to the animals? also with all the noise and stuff?

ok, um...yes, some of the kids are overweight, but certainly not all of them! And at least they are out doing something, so good for them. And those calves are stressed out anyway, lol. It's this or getting roped and tied. Then one day they'll be food, which is far more stressful.

and you think thats ok? To treat them like garbage? I mean, they're not even fully grown, they're baby cows being tackled and thrown around like dirt. Shameful in my opinion..

Honey it's a lot better than what could be happening to them. They could be veal. And every sport you do with any animal can be argued to be abusive. These calves are going to be food, or they may have a detour and be roping steers or something, who knows. Calf scrambles are hardly the worst thing we could be doing to these animals. Yes, in a perfect world all the animals would live free in green meadows and be fat and happy, but...this is life. And it sucks. So...yeah, the calves can deal.

Um, I dont think its wrong! I show calfs, and has done the claf scramble the past two years and has caught at our county. You know, we get hurt also!!!!!!!! & Did your brother get a hardluck??

secondly that will never happen to animals so who cares???

I wonder what they would do if one day they would grow stronger than us and with all the knowledge of how we had treated them, be able to take revenge on us. Take all the pain and suffering into consideration, slaughterhouse abuse, science experiments, entertainment, fur and hide torture industry, Think about that, really, what you think they would do to us? Because after all, we share the same planet with them, and I sure as hell wouldnt treat a fellow friend like that.

Lol so you're saying, because we have the power to treat them badly its ok? That they should be thankful we're not treating them even worse? It's like you're saying we dont have a choice but to abuse them and that its ok because they're gonna be eaten anyway. Wow..
