  • Where's the rest of the piece? I liked your ornaments, but you could be a bit freer. Sweelinck's style was identical to the English virginalists, who in turn owe much to the lute. Think of lutes.

  • Mooi gespeeld deze fijne muziek van Sweelinck. Ligt een beetje in de buurt van John Dowland (vroeger veel gezongen met mijn kamerkoor "I Madrigalisti").

  • Have you heard ernststolz beautifull version? It has more flow, less 'cluncky' :)

  • Frescobaldi gives you a bunch of notes to actually play with. You can mend and shape it all you like, smooth over here, agressive spirit over there, all in good taste. With Sweelinck it is extreme difficult. Always a challenge to find an interpretation that fits.
