Late, but not too late: the video to the 15th anniversary of Quake, a first-person shooter developed by id Software. It has been published by GT Interactive on June 22, 1996. Since this game has been released as the Internet raised up commercially, it mostly became popular because it was one of the few games that was playable over the Internet rather than just a local network. In this game, you are a soldier sent into a portal in order to stop an enemy code named "Quake".

Quake has been released for several platforms like MS-DOS, Commodore Amiga, Atari Falcon, IRIX, Apple Macintosh, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn and many more. In this video, you can see the PC MS-DOS shareware version. The full version also features music by Trent Reznor, leader of Nine Inch Nails.

  • God this was SUCH a great game :-) Modern FPS needs to learn from this.

  • Awesome game,

Greatly designed levels, scary monsters, brilliant sound and music. Although I prefer Doom.

  • Here in Germany we get Quake 1 with all Mission Packs in the next Year! Uncut of course. That's amazing. I have Quake since it released, but i don't have the Mission Packs. Quake is a great Game and with Rygel's Ultra Texture Pack is it fantastic.
