The map shows the battle formation of the East & West Camps in the Sekigahara battle, which is the finals of the age of samurai wars. Ishida Mitsunari, the leader of the West, stood on that hill called Sasao-yama and planed his strategy in the year of 1600. The winner, Tokugawa Ieyasu who commanded the East, was appointed the Shogun by the then Emperor after the battle.
