I heard Tony Wilson say in an interview that this was the worlds song written about AIDS.

"Perfect Kiss is the Kiss of Death" and "Pretending not to See His Gun, I said lets go out and have some fun". Pretty deep and pretty intelligent - quite profound to be fair.

Awesome song. Listen to New order on my MP3 all of the time. I wish I knew who this song was about.

Per Wikipedia: Bernard Sumner has not clarified the song's meaning and as such it has many interpretations. Sounds like a friend is killed is some violent act.

Looks like they had a bad night of lovey dovy the night before. They were the best new wave band. Every song was great wasn't it.

They all look really moody when performing this.

Also now we know where Ross from friends got his inspiration from!

Definitely one of my most favorite club tracks ever (80's), and probably my MOST favorite New Order track. Outstanding forever. But there is something "different" about this. It sounds more "in studio". I've never heard this version. Is this different from the 12" version i was used to hearing in the clubs??? Anybody know???
