those gaps in the pattern, is that caused by the module itself using highspeed strobing or is it caused by something in front if it?

Those gaps are controlled. Using software such as pangelin, you are almost unlimited inthe effects you can create.

The camera does such a poor job of representing this color. 473nm is such a nice soothing color.
Of the two blue lasers I have (473nm and 488nm) I much prefer the DPSS at 473nm.
