@clh2192 Seems like everyone just wants a piece of this history. As for me, Im just glad it happened and dont really care how it did, Djing has kept me out of so much trouble, given me so much and been a part of my identity since I was very young. House music is what Ive come to love and the Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vegas, BadBoyBills, Tony Humphries and all the others of the world, known and unknown, I feel deeply grateful for. From my house to yours, keep the soul alive! And the beat goes on!

Forget focusing on what station Mr. Kent played for, I was still stuck on you did not address him by his full proper name, Herb Kent the Kool Gent!!!

I'm inspired to do my own "videography" now, since I'm in none of the Rink Zone pictures AND apart of the original Friday Nite Audio squad on WKKC! Great work Leonard :)

@sojampix112nyc Can't cosign on that. Just stating the facts. Did you respond to JoskiLove's original comment? No disrespect-lol- But I only hear comments like yours when Black people try to get the real story out there.

@clh2192 It don't matter who started it,all of it is american music,or western music for euro's.We make a terrible mistake when we attach race to something that belong to the masses, beside that go's against the hold message of unity'

@MrJoskiLove Mobile DJs Flowers (opened up for James Brown in 1969), Maboya, King Charles but the biggest appears to be Pete DJ Jones, who was killing the clubs in the late 60s early 70s. These were the cats who inspired Levan, Flash, Herc, Knuckles, DJ Divine, Hollywood...etc. And they all played the same records. Herc and the Bx cats emphasized the heavier James Brown- "break" type joints. Check Founding Fathers preview on YouTube. BTW Levan, Jones, ...etc are all Black-lol

@MrJoskiLove The music that came to be known as techno actually started in Detroit, then went to Europe where it became "techno"-techno. White people didn't start house-lol. Larry Levan was asked to bring what he was doing in the NY clubs to the Chi in the mid to late 70s. Levan asked his boy Frankie Knuckles. And Knuckles went instead. From my digging, house and hip-hop came from the same tree. NY Mobile DJs in the late 60s and 70s.

its funny how close i was to all of this when it was happening and didnt realize how big it would be 27 years later. I actually gave Jesse ideas on several tracks back in the day. He came up to camp to visit a few times and then blew up !

That being the case, you should be included in all this too. We DJ's would be nothing without the people that supported us AND THAT IS REAL. DJ's that got a case of the BIGHEAD have completly forgot that. I always HAD a big Ego with my peer DJ's but I was always humble as of the people that came to the parties because......if it werent for them, there would be no me and i'm glad that people still got love for me.
