Ari Ólafsson and stage hands show audio demonstrations during a Physics lecture. This footage is not color corrected nor post processed for shake. I will put a final version later

  • Cool) It work with water too!

  • what are those tubes and screens made of?

  • The first device that was demonstrated, was a Rijke tube.

  • @mcmals that guy is right, but he should also mention that the flow of air outwards creates an area of lower pressure, forcing more air in from the bottom. this becomes exponential to an extent.

  • so far, this tube has the most consistent flame size across its length I've seen so far on youtube. Very well made.

  • just guessing but the heated plate is moving air up and out of the tube and the different lenght of the the tube being used the pitch changes. more and less room for air to move to create sound. If im wrong please some one tell me

  • the thermo-acoustic tubes are really cool how exactly do they work?
