The greatest female voice in rock music. Sandy Denny was great, Annie Haslam perhaps better but Maddy is the best of the best.
@snugglehound You buy into that myth? Yes the Pistols were necessary, but as an antidote to "music for the kids": Middle of the Road, Bay City Rollmops and other insulting, inane, criminal (but at the same time, infuriatingly well written) pop like that. Bands like the Span and Tull were never aimed at that market.
