So, what is the alternative. Nuclear is dangerous, too. I hate it when criticism is made but, no alternatives suggested. If you are not helping you are harming!
And it is a little hard for me to consider CO2 a pollutant when plants make it after dark and everything that breathes puts it out during expiration. Next question is, do fish put out CO2? We could reduce CO2 output if we killed all the animals, but man, off . And, destroyed the plaints. But, reasonable? That answer is obvious!
The question is, how much is that, in comparison to hemp?! It, reportedly, is much better. And, it grows everywhere without much support. Heck, it grows wild all over! And, all of it with, just, the natural supply of water from above!
Ethanol isn't good in any way, no matter what you made it out of. The transformation to fluid fuel takes energy, so it's at least twice as good to grow some other smart plant and burn it directly if one wants to reduce the oil dependency or CO2 emissions. A cogeneration power plant has 90% effectivity. But too much bio energy is dangerous to the environment.
(Btw, I don't believe CO2 damage our environment, quitre the opposite!)

I understand that once the Ogallala aquifer is depleted it won't have the same capacity for recharging.
