  • @zibbyzubb: Phyllis Diller HATED this show, and when asked about it in an interview, she said, 'Oh, That SHOW' which put an end to any discussion right then and there.

  • This show was ahead of its time. Redo it for today and you would have a hit.

  • I remember watching this show when it was on 45 years ago! I loved it. So sad when it was cancelled. Wish they would bring it back, re-make it !!!! :

  • Ok, i never heard of The Pruitts of Southampton. But that opening song is so cute & catchy! She really did have a great voice. Maybe the show itself wasn't the best. But compared to the junk on today, it would be a hit! And since most of us are flat broke. We can all relate. Now I'll be singing "howcha do, howcha do, howcha do, my dear. What a lovely surprise, nice to see you here" for days. God bless you Phyllis.

  • @screenwitch The Phyllis Diller Show did not go back to black & white. Take another look at your black & white kinescope copy and note that the intro says 'IN COLOR' at bottom left.

  • In Color! lol

  • But one thing folks don't know is that The Pruitts are flat broke!

  • Does anyone remember that Lisa Loring from The Addams family was in this show also?

  • @2nicks ... the two sets have a different number of steps... they would have had to do a lot of alterations if they used the old set for this. Interesting that John Astin was in the second half of the season as a boarder in the mansion...
