Little kid walking around a Solar Cooker, broken Sharp edges of plastic mirror. The cooker might be over 200 C degree temperature.
Not very wise.

Kick "A" job; I like the rocker effect. makes it very easy to keep it focased as the sun moves around.
By the way;;; Where did you get that large peace of mirrowed plastic. Thanks

I am a retired sheet metal worker. He would have to get it a lot hotter than that oven wil get. Below 750 800 degrees. No problem.
BUT; You are correct abvout the warning though. People need to be very careful of what metals they use for cooking food.
Galvaized and Aluminum are the two worst.
galvinized metal will give off a whit powdery gas that WILL give you lung cancer and at low temps.
Aluminum is very pourous and once cooked in the pours fill with food stuffs you can never get out.

Awesome. One word of caution though --maybe not warranted, as it's based on hearsay--I've heard that stainless steel can be very toxic when heated enough (I don't know how much "enough" is, but you might want to look into it).

Nice work - do you have a source for the reflector material, or did you find it locally? And how did you scale the AutoCad output - I'm betting you don't have a printer that big ;-) Any plans to put it on a pivot to track the sun? I know, too many questions.

Wow - great stuff! I really like this type of cooker - do you have the drawing of the parabola available? I would really like to build one of these. Thanks, Ken.
