SEGA Sound Comparison in Genesis Sonic Games - Frequency Analysis

This is a comparison of the SEGA Sound in three Sonic games for the Sega Genesis: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. As you can hear, the pitch is slightly different between them. Also: Sonic 1 has a bias noise going on for a while after the Sega sound, and Sonic 2 has a small bump when the screen fades out. Sonic 3 instead has a "clean" Sega sound.
In the video responses you will find another video with the actual Sega screens.

Before anyone asks: yes I removed some gaps between the sounds. The bump at the end of Sonic 2's Sega sound isn't supposed to be that close to the sound itself. I just wanted to make the video shorter, live with it.

The most notable difference is the S in the Sonic 3 version is really odd sounding. It's also a bit lower quality.

Also, even though I've known this since forever, I've never paid any attention to it until now :D
