@TheSqueenie the point of this is to round the horses up to cut the hair and groom these wild horses. Thats the point of this, its an ancient tradition which has been around for hundreds of years. All they do is cut the horses hair to prevent disease and other parasites. The animals are not abused in any way, they are let go after into the wild.

What's the point of this?... I am sure this just makes the horses extra cautious of people. But compared to US rodeos and how they round up the wild horses with helicopters in the public lands here, what these people do falls way down on the list of bad treatment of animals, if at all.

No seáis ignorantes, con la rapa al caballo se le agarra sin cuerdas ni palos, no se le hace daño, se le corta y sanea el pelo, se le desparasita y se le devuelve a la libertad de los montes gallegos para que críe. Los únicos que pueden sufrir algún daño son los aloitadores que se juegan el tipo para amarrar al caballo.
