Hi there, this is me playing stella by starlight in chord melody form. For all you gear heads.. I am playing my prs custom 24 into a fender blues Jr. equipped with a celestion V30. I also was using the MXR micro chorus.
The harmony consists of traditional chord melody style, ie. putting the melody note in the soprano and harmonizing it in thirds, but also found in this chord melody is the utilization of quartal harmony, especially in the altered V chords of the piece. All the of altered V chords here were harmonized quaterly and harmonized using the half-tone whole-tone scale. Also found in the bridge was more quartal chords harmonizing the c-min with c dorian and the Ab with D super locrian. (tritone sub).
