What would happen if our favorite songs of yesteryear were produced in a different time and era? Namely today's era? I was bored and decided to answer that question for you. You'd likely end up with this. I chose 17 songs that are an overall average age of 50 years. While Autotune's original intent was to make bad singers sound good (much to bane of music enthusiasts everywhere), you'll see that the opposite happens when applied to great singers!

What is the name of the singer of the very last song, 'He will wash you whiter than snow?' Can you post that entire song?

@2prince2ster , that's Sallie Martin with Alex Bradford. The song was posted here about 2-3 years ago. If you do a search, you'll find it.

ouch!!! Hurts the ears!!!
Voices + instruments were not always in perfect tune in the 1950's-60's, and when you add the vagaries of audio tape...

@miditrax I've always thought that these gospel recordings and singers from the 1950s-60s were great! Roberta, Clara and Mahalia didn't need autotune. Today, singers autotune everything to hide blemishes and hide the fact that they simply don't have the same vocal talent that the singers of the past did. My point with this video is, while modern singers apply autotune to their mediocre vocals to sound ok, applying autotune to excellent vocals such as these can have the extreme opposite effect.
