Surrounded by water, a Buddhist temple is one of the last remnants of a Thai village that has vanished beneath the sea -- a scene being repeated across Asia and the world. Duration: 02:21
You know, I really don't pity people who live in financially stable countries such as the U.S. and complain about having a house or car that's not good enough for them. There are people in places like Thailand who have absolutely nothing. Like the woman said at 1:16, they were given only $90 to save their house and family. I think it would be a really good idea for anyone who watches this video including myself to give this christmas to these people so you can help save them...
I am not saying that it is what they should do, I am saying that is what they do and have always done.
No need to remind me that thailand is a poor country, I lived there 2 years and in such a village with local people. There, if you are Thai and clean a parcel of jungle that is not private, It becomes your land. In the west, go try to live in a forest near you and see how long it takes to the hautorities to quick you out. All is relative, always.
Ok so get me straight your saying that people should adapt to their environment but when you have to constantly change where you live and how you live can be a pain.
For example lets say you rebuild your house from a tornado and thing thing you know it gets hit again and again. Can you adapt to that nature? I'm sure you won't be able to.
Also, let me remind you that thailand is a poor country and and people dont have the money to move around.
Capacity to adapt to their ever changing environment is what has made human beings what they are. Why should the environment stop evolving for them! More space for the fish : )
