Tristesses de la lune(sorrows of the moon) - Celtic Frost

A nice song from the album "Into de pandemonium" (1987). It's the track #4, the lyrics are in french...actually it's a poem writen by Charles Baudelaire. Here are the original poem and lyric:

Ce soir, la lune rêve avec plus de paresse;
Ainsi qu'une beauté, sur de nombreux coussins,
Qui d'une main distraite et légère caresse
Avant de s'endormir le contour de ses seins,

Sur le dos satiné des molles avalanches,
Mourante, elle se livre aux longues pâmoisons,
Et promène ses yeux sur les visions blanches
Qui montent dans l'azur comme des floraisons.

Quand parfois sur ce globe, en sa langueur oisive,

For the longest time I thought this was the *only* version of the song. That.s what we had on the canadian LP.

There is actually two CELTIC FROST versions of this song. This one, and a metal full-band version! I like the other better, but this just shows how genius and versatile Warrior really was!

@ZakBlayde Comme ce que j'ai lu sur ton blog, d'où le rapprochement. Cela dit, je peux aussi comprendre ta réaction. Bon je vais peut-être arrêter le flood, on commence à avoir du mal à s'y retrouver ici ! Je vais essayer de mettre la main sur le CD d'Ulver en question.

A ce propos j'ai vu que tu appréciais Ulver, il vaut quoi leur "Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" ?

@ZakBlayde Ouais on est d'accord. Par contre il y a bien une interprétation personnelle de la part de Manü Moan, elle met le ton. Il faut savoir que ce morceau n'était pas sur la version originale de l'album, il avait été jugé trop spécial. J'avoue que concernant les adaptations de poèmes, je viens souvent à la musique après avoir lu le texte, je cherche des adaptations, mais ce n'est pas toujours le cas.
