"The person whose closest caretakers used methods of infant care and child rearing that were gentle, patient and loving is not in prison. The person who sensed from earliest infancy that adults are the source of safety, security and comfort is not in prison. The person who always felt wanted is not in prison. The person who was respected, encouraged to explore and inquire is not in prison. The person who grew up seeing family members and others treat each other with respect and honor each other's privacy and dignity is not in prison. The person who had ample exposure in childhood to people who used reasoning, not violence, to solve problems is not in prison. The person whose physical and emotional needs during infancy and childhood were met is not in prison..."

Excellent video. I've said the same many times in my life. If you treat someone like an animal, they will become an animal, if you love someone, despite what they have done, they will change.

It's a shame this doesn't have more views. It's so important.

Tools are at the hands of nurture not the materials that negative behaviors gets there hands on. It is simple to teach what is proper and what is not. Maybe thinking into the mind of development the mentality is behaviors not tools within the hands . Instead of banning weapons try coping skills and behavioral modification techniques . If distress is a noticible behavior wouldn't the mental stability be a better option instead of banning Guns ?.

In video 5rvAcL4Mo5Y, Stefan advocates bullying a child who bullies to teach them not to bully using the standard excuse of parents who hit children who've hit others: they tried everything else.

In video 5rvAcL4Mo5Y, Stefan says that he would bully a child to teach them not to bully if talking didn't work (much like parents will say they tried everything else before hitting a child who hits others). He justifies this morally.

This is after he says that we see that the thing for people who have a sadistic streak is to humiliate with brute force and then to justify that with triumphant moralizing which further humiliates and frustrates your victim.

It's so obvious. Every thing that exists has got a reason, every adult who makes something bad, once was a child. There's no vaccium.

    Stef,

Have you read "Prologue to Violence: Child Abuse, Dissociation, and Crime " by Abby Stein?

I saw it recently on Barnes and Nobles and was considering purchasing it...wonder if you had any insight on it or other great parenting books.

Maybe you can make a video about references / books that you stand by as a parent and philosopher?

    Have a great day!

Great! You haven't pointed out anything invalid yet, so perhaps you finally have something. Let's have a look. Huh? You provided noting again. You've simply said that I have an error in reasoning. This isn't an argument or evidence of anything. I can call you an egg over and over, but the frequency of the assertion doesn't make it true. If I wish to prove that you're an egg I must at least try and prove it. So, I'm afraid I still have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm very glad you have pointed this out. It has been my intention from the very first time I replied to you that I use your own method of argumentation in hopes you would recognize its invalidity as a method of reasoning. In making assertions like you(but absent your occasional insults) I had hoped you would be able to see your own actions mirrored and perhaps recognize your own error in reasoning. Hopefully you will consider your own comments and hold them to the same standard as mine.

Again, you're not proving anything. You're simply making an assertion. Well, relate it to something I've said and show that it means something. Show how I've done what you're claiming and show what's wrong with it. You have shown nothing flawed.

I described exactly why it is methodologically flawed in the following and prior sentence. I did not 'stop there'. Again, the prerequisites for the natural scientific method are not met. That you have ignored the those lines to draw your conclusion is evidence you aren't intent upon the truth.
