The word "Investigate" was used in this context to describe what actual journalists should do IF we had real journalists. She wasn't talking about a McCarthy like investigation of trials and sentencing.

Of course she is not going to point out 'who is' because then everyone would complain about that. All she said is that journalists and Americans should really look into and discuss what kind of attitude is best for this country.

Real journalists in a free society DO NOT investigate who is for or against a country unless they openly say or do what is objectively so.
